Cinémascope
1995
This
installation was created in collaboration for the Bienal of Johannesburg
(exhibition: "Volatile Colonies", organized by Kendell Geers,
1995).
1) A soccer game: "resident artists"versus "invited artists".
The players wear T-shirts designed for this event, printed with current
front page newspaper layouts. A poster gives notice of the demonstration.
The two artists play in the game, while the camera is entrusted to a
young neophyte, who films the game.
2) The two artists constantly film throughout their trip in the city
and region.
3) Since the museum technicians create their own tools, they themselves
build the projection screen made of curved wood and a wooden table on
which is placed objects as well as video tapes. The videos are projected
onto the curved screen painted in white. |
