Un homme public
1994/95

"L'homme public" is a project about Yves Lecoq. He is a television star. I discovered him when I discovered myself as a TV spectator. I too became a person who could be influenced by images. The television portrayed behavior models and environments that were foreign to me, that were different from my own. It offered me televisual models, photogenic ones. This little revelation is associated with my memory of Yves Lecoq, that I used to see on a variety show. He facinated me because he was the first impersonator i ever saw. While imitating all the celebrities, it seemed as if he himself was the television. I remember this instant like a flash.
And now that I am older...
"L'homme public" is my revenge, my turn to influence, my turn to transform television. I found Yves Lecoq. He does voices for a daily show called "Les guignols de l'info" on Canal + .
I have already worked with him three times.
"vampire contre vampire" is the beginning of the story; it's a story about being possessed.
It's a painting where the painter wants to transform his subject.
A psychological painting; I aspire to transform it from the inside. Look, I just moved to the other side of the screen. I am on TV now, and now I can act. The moment when the the public starts working on the images is called interaction. No longer exists the public that thought itself to be just that!
I am leaving you now to watch the first images of this project. "
