"I realise many of us discovered clouds during lockdown, since then, I try to analyse why my fascination with them. Is it their intangibility versus their apparent monumentality? Their character and variations: volume, density, wind and light effects, make them a sort of medium on their own. After being a cloud observant during several years now, while travelling under several skies, I also start to make distinctions in our perception of ‘the sky is blue’, or our idea of ‘blue sky’ realising each color in every geographic location is unique.
Synthetic fluffy content is perhaps the most literal way of representing a cloud. A material that is normally hidden as the content of something, makes its appearance under a conceptual framework, where language is replaced by nature, its matter, its volatility. At the same time, it reminds to a contemporary concept/space referred as ‘the cloud’, which also addresses dubious materiality and contains all of our current DNA."
