Carsten Höller’s hyperrealistic sculptures of animals look like animals but they do not occur in nature. Snake is turned into soft orange-pink sculpture, crocodile becomes translucent amber-colored replica and new-born hippopotamus are magenta. This beautiful white pangolin is rolled up in n a protective position. Its blue eyes are human artificial eyes. It conveys empathy for this animal that has recently suffered from a bad reputation.
