Since the 1990s, Monica Majoli's work has sought to document the history, practices, specificities and intimate relationships that form the fabric of American queer culture. The frequently frontal sexuality of her subjects contrasts with the often gentle and delicate, or at least meticulous, treatment of the techniques she employs. The rarity of her work is due to the choice of these rather classical techniques and their virtuoso mastery, which have made her a cult artist.
