Rob Pruitt
Born 1964 in Washington
Lives and works in New York

Rob Pruitt's works brings a dose of humour to his survey of art history codes and the rules of the market, they are indexing the power of images within a gamut extending from fascination to objectivity. Pandas are Rob Pruitt's favorite animal: "I loved the panda since I was a boy growing up just outside of D.C. and Ling-Ling and Hsing-Hsing were gifted to the Nixon administration and lived at the National Zoo. I begged my parents to take me as often as possible, and they took me and I drew them and took pictures of them. Years later, when I was transitioning out of being known for collaborating, they seemed to represent me in a perfect way."
